Creating Beautiful Comfortable Landscapes to Bring You into Nature

We are a “family farm” producing a variety of crops, including high quality nursery stock, on our 150 acres. I represent the third generation of Drummonds to farm this piece of land, and the fourth generation, Kollene, Jennifer, David, and Garnet carry many experiences and a solid work ethic from growing up here. This is our 28th full season as a working nursery farm, and for more than one hundred years, the Drummonds have been caring for this little piece of land.

For the past three years, the nursery has doubled as the winter home for our herd of American Milking Devon cattle.

While many of our plants are used in our gardening and conservation projects, we also have a very broad selection of top quality plant material available for retail sales. From Spring through Fall,  John is typically out on landscape projects during the week, but is in the nursery all day Saturday to handle specific technical questions etc. In a similar fashion to the farmers’ market concept, we have compressed our retail hours to allow more time to keep up with the landscaping work. We can still accommodate off-hours appointments, and can have pre-arranged orders ready for pick-up at your convenience .

We are growing nursery stock in our fields as well as in a container production area, with an emphasis on shade trees, shrubs and trees for windbreaks, woodlots, and wildlife. Roses are the most beautiful of all flowers, and we have almost one hundred varieties of these spectacular plants to choose from. We also grow an enticing selection of 200 perennial varieties. Our great love of home-grown produce continues to inspire a great selection of fruit trees and berry bushes. Our plants are grown without toxic chemicals, nor forced with high nitrogen fertilizers.

Planting more trees continues to be our best hope for moderating the extremes of climate change. Whether a shade tree for a hot urban lot, or a mile of trees to hold valuable topsoil from eroding, many more trees are needed, and fortunately, everyone can make a difference.

Our commitment to you remains the same: We make every possible attempt to serve you with the finest quality plants, accurate horticultural information, and the friendliest service anywhere in the industry.

Regular Retail Nursery Hours have now been curtailed by the onset of winter.
